Vidya Balan: Is this Sabyasachi? kind of odd cotton saree draped by vidya balan
From the tactile combinations this saree has, and amalgam of different elements this saree has, the classic double border, and combine it with ethnic print, I’d venture to guess that this is a Sabyasachi saree.
I absolutely and utterly dislike this combo. Whats that pink trimming on the sleeves doing? weren’t there enough colors there already? Moss green and burnt orange look so conflicting and no amount of zari can hide that.
It is a half saree and the other half of the saree is not communicating with the pallu.
As if all that wasn’t enough, the blue beads look so out of place!
Yes, there have been other Sabyasachi combos that I have not liked, but thats OK. You have to give a designer enough lee way to experiment. But this is not experimentation. The double border has been done to death and pairing it within a half saree falls flat.
